The only film made by renowned Iranian poet Forugh Farrokhzad, who died at the age of 32. This poetic portrait of a leper colony is considered a landmark film in Iranian cinema and in the history of essay filmmaking. Though it is sometimes difficult to watch, it is one of a handful of films that, in its unremitting portrayal of suffering and difficulty, exposes a powerful, human dignity.
